VEGF
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the key players in angiogenesis, the process of new blood vessel formation. VEGF plays role through its two receptors, VEGFR1 and VEGFR2, expressed in endothelial cells. Blocking the interaction between VEGF and its receptors using specific antibodies or other protein entities to prevent signaling has been one of many approaches to reduce tumor growth.
