Coronaviruses are a group of related RNA viruses that cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. There are several strains identified so far, including Common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), and SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 is the virus causing the COVID-19 pandemic.
