The family of the Flaviviridae, a genus of positive-strand RNA viruses, contains 3 genera: (i) the flaviviruses, (ii) the pestiviruses and (iii) the hepaciviruses, to which belongs Hepatitis C virus (HCV). HCV is transmitted with blood contact. Flavivirus is transmitted by the bite from an infected arthropod (mosquito or tick). This viral family includes West Nile virus (WNV), Zika virus (ZIKV), Japanese Encephalitis virus (JEV), Dengue virus (DENV), Yellow Fever virus (YFV) and others.
